UMass News and Noteworthy

I often read great news and articles about UMass affiliates (students, faculty, alums) and while I don't have comments, feel like they are noteworthy. I share these items for your reference of great people doing great things with education and technology at the University of Massachusetts:

1. UMass Amherst Isenberg School's MBA Program Earns Four Top Ten National Rankings from Princeton Review.
2. See this tremendous travel feature on Go Nomad by Kristi Girdharry, a senior at UMass Amherst, majoring in English. Kristi also blogs. Here's the link.
3. Lifetime Achievement Award received by Dr. Forrest "Woody" Stoddard …one of the earliest visionary leaders, teachers and pioneers in the U.S. wind energy industry. Stoddard was the lead developer of the 25-kW Windfurnace at the University of Massachusetts in the mid 1970s. He attained a Ph.D in civil engineering in 1979 at UMass.
4. CCNews and the April 19th issue of the journal Nature features "Celestial Fender-Bender" research insights by UMass Amherst scientists Jijin Yang and Joseph Goldstein of the department of mechanical and industrial engineering, joined by Edward Scott of the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics and Planetology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
