Rent a Textbook, Plant a Tree?
Posted on September 7, 2007 by Som Seng
This is about a new online site at Chegg.com offering over two million used books and 800,000 new book titles for students to rent, rather than buy. If you use this service, they’ll plant a tree for every text you rent. Thanks to the Environmental graffiti blog for bringing it to my attention.
For a couple of reasons I can’t endorse the site personally or on behalf of UMassOnline, of course. But all of us can probably easily endorse the concept. And, you may find it a useful way of finding more affordable texts while also making a contribution to the health of planet Earth?
If you decide to try this site, please come back and let us know what you think of it.

Here’s another good way to save the planet and offsett your carbon emissions… Plant a tree - co2balance can help you ethically minimise your carbon emissions and offset the unavoidable CO2 residue.
