National Distance Learning Week: Nov. 12-16, 2007
Posted on November 8, 2007 by Jennifer Brady
Mark those calendars…
Doesn’t it seem like there’s a National This or That Week almost every week and for almost everything under the sun? Well, now under the auspices of the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA), a National Distance Learning Week has been announced and scheduled for November 12th through the 16th. You can read more about it in this news release.
Setting aside for a moment the somewhat jaded view we sometimes have that these national awareness efforts are often marked more by great effort than great awareness, what might you do to participate? After all, the USDLA does have a noble goal. As noted in their news release: During that week, numerous events will be held throughout the country and online to educate the public about the fast growing world of distance learning.
You may want to visit the National Distance Learning Week site to learn more about it. I get the impression they are thinking that the best way to inform others about the benefits and possibilities of distance learning is to let online learners tell their stories. With that, I couldn’t agree more.

Jennifer,
Thanks for posting NDLW. We plan to have a ton of fun with this and you may want to check some of it out. Also folks will get a FREE widget that will send updates to their desktop to include a SCORM course. Reggie
