UMassOnline’s CAO Barbara Macaulay To Lead Workshop Dec. 6th in Miami

Posted on November 15, 2007 by Jennifer Brady

This upcoming presentation in Miami on December 6th by UMassOnline’s Chief Academic Officer Barbara Macaulay is posted in our Events Calendar here on the blog. But here is a bit more information for those of you who may wish to know more about this two-day seminar series hosted by the Aslanian Group.

The Aslanian Group offers market research and enrollment management services to colleges and universities that want to increase their share of adult students—typically out-of-school populations who would like to return to or begin their undergraduate or graduate study. It also offers professional development seminars and conferences for higher education administrators who seek new techniques, information, and best practices in reaching out to and serving adult students.

Barbara’s planned workshop presentation is entitled, “Hybrid Programs for Busy Working Adults.”  Here, in brief, is an overview of what will be covered during the one-hour session:

Blended approaches to continuing higher education bring the best of online and face-to-face learning to busy working adults.  Preceding the development of the highly popular blended learning programs at UMassOnline, case studies were compiled and best practices were articulated.  This workshop focuses on these best practices and examines the various models used within UMassOnline.  Through discussion with participants, Barbara will explore the opportunities and challenges of blended learning.
