Fellow Distance Learners Make a Difference Says Blogger

Here at a site called the Open Education Network Blog, student Paul Kawachi writes:

“Dear Folks, It has been a very busy year for everyone. Thanks must go to colleagues studying at West Georgia together with me - my overall conclusion is that in distance education particularly - it is the students that make the learning happen…” To me, this reinforces the importance of admission standards. If an online provider takes anyone and everyone merely on the basis of whether or not the student can pay the tuition – without regard to a student’s academic readiness – then online teams can include fellow students who are not necessarily helpful to the overall learning experience. But what do you think? I am curious if in reading this you have similar or opposing views.
