Free Access to Atomic Learning for Students
Posted on March 1, 2008 by Mark Gillard
UMass Amherst has purchased access to Atomic Learning for the spring semester. Access is available to all UMA students, instructors and staff. What is Atomic Learning? Richard Rogers, Chair of the Provost’s Learning Commons Committee, explains:
“Atomic Learning provides training an over 110 of the most commonly used software applications, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Dreamweaver, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop and many more for either the Mac or PC platform. Atomic Learning delivers a library of thousands of short, easy-to-view-and-understand tutorial movies that can be used as an integral part of a professional development program, a valuable curriculum supplement and an anytime/anywhere software training rescource.”
I am currently taking a Photojournalism course through UMassOnline, so I’ve been playing around a bit with the Photoshop tutorials in Atomic Learning. From what I’ve seen so far these are fantastic tutorials.
Access to Atomic Learning can be found here. You will need your UMass NedID and password to login in. Access is only available through May 31 so take advantage of this great resource while you can! Be sure to post your comments about Atomic Learning as I’m sure the school would love your feedback!
