Podcasts 101: Podcasting Publishing Software (Part 2 of 3)
Posted on March 14, 2008 by Stefanie Henderson
In the world of teaching and learning with technology, podcasts have become part of everyday life. A professor can create podcasts for students to subscribe to and listen anywhere, any time, or anyplace. A student may post comments on last week’s Biology lecture, upcoming housing availability, or what’s happening while on Spring Break. All of these types of published podcasts may be simply created with a computer, microphone, and podcasting publishing software.
In my first Friday Fives posting, I mentioned Audacity as a free digital audio editor perfect for creating podcasts. Here are a few more podcasting publishing software solutions for this week’s Friday Fives:
- Wimba Podcaster: Easy to create and share. Click here to view a brief demo of Wimba Podcaster.
- MyPodcast: Record, publish and air your podcasts with this FREE podcast hosting provider.
- ePodcast Express: Converts any audio file to a podcast complete with RSS feeds and tags.
- WildVoice Shout (quick web-based recorder) and
- WildVoice Studio (podcast community): WildVoice allows you to record, publish, and share podcasts.
Please comment below on any additional podcasting software applications you may be using. If you’ve found my series on podcasting interesting thus far, please stay tuned for my final part of the series next week.

Hey Stefanie,
For the Mac users out there, the GarageBand software that is part of the iLife package is a great tool for creating podcasts.
