A New Option for Online College Admissions Test Prep
Posted on March 20, 2008 by Jennifer Brady
I don’t know about you, but when I think of Britannica I think of an A-Z library of maroon encyclopedias with shiny gold down the spine my parents bought for me. I used them constantly to help with homework, class assignments, fact-finding, etc. My parents still have them and scan them on occasion but so often turn to the web as a faster and more efficient way to find information (or more likely to me to look up information for them). I recently stumbled across this news announcing that Britannica is launching a new online test-prep service and just thought that this makes perfect sense.
Students preparing to take SAT and ACT exams, can find online exam-preparation offerings that the providers say do a great a job of preparing students at cost and convenience factors that outweigh classroom-based preparation models. [But for the record, we don’t endorse any offering from any source.] I bring this to your attention because you may want to learn more about this option, and more about additional sources of online programs for test preparation. While there are other online test-prep providers such as Kaplan, Princeton Review, I found it interesting that Britannica is now jumping into the mix since they represent some of my earliest memories of being immersed in learning.
If you’ve experienced this or any other online exam preparation service, please share your opinion. Were you helped? Was it a more convenient and cost-effective solution for you?
