WUML 91.5 FM Podcasts Feature UMassOnline Leaders
Posted on May 7, 2008 by Jennifer Brady
Are you familiar with UMass Lowell’s WUML 91.5 FM radio station? If not, and if you have some free time some morning between 7am to 10am, I think you’d enjoy this very professionally operated radio station and its informative as well as entertaining programming. The station does have a limited broadcast reach – approximately a 20 mile radius of its tower located atop UMass Lowell’s Fox Hall. However, thanks to the digital age in which we live, the programming is also available via archived podcasts. Therefore, if you’re beyond the range of the live broadcasts in the greater Lowell area, you can still take advantage of the programming.
Two podcasts in particular may be of interest to you if you’re a student at, or are otherwise affiliated with, UMassOnline.
This podcast, from mid-February, 2008, features UMassOnline CEO David Gray. In this 21 minute interview, he explains how the online education program from UMassOnline is growing and addressing students’ needs.
In the second podcast, a 24 minute interview from mid-April, 2008, UMassOnline’s Brian Douglas, CTO, explains the technology that supports and makes possible online learning.
