The Online Student Survival Guide

Jennifer Brady, UMassOnlineSome public relations people and marketing advisors would tell me I’m doing something ill-advised in this post: I’m saying something positive about an initiative by an institution which on some level I suppose competes with UMassOnline. I believe that strong institutions like UMassOnline with extreme confidence in our offering can, from time to time, without apprehension, acknowledge that others in our field also have a good idea or two.

The good idea I’m speaking about is a new site called The Online Student Survival Guide. It is a place where online students can get tips on how to cope with the rigors of managing their online student life – from scheduling family time to finding more ways to eat better (recipes included!).

The Guide is the product of Western Governors University. To their credit, the content doesn’t sponsor a lot of commercial hype about WGU but offers useful information to help manage online education and life in general.
