Sloan-C Survey Shows Online Enrollments Continue to Swell Nationally in 2008
Posted on November 19, 2008 by Barbara Macaulay
The 2008 Sloan Survey of Online Learning has been released. Somewhat predictably, it reports another year of tremendous growth (up by 12%) and this will likely be the focus of most news reports covering this year’s findings. But to focus just on the growth stats is to short-change the survey’s extreme value in spotting other trends and attitudes among those who learn and teach online. Among the other important topics presented in the report are some answers to these four questions:
- What will the Impact of the Economy be on Online Enrollments?
- Do Academic Leaders and Faculty Agree?
- Is Online Learning Strategic?
- What Disciplines are Best Represented Online?
Copying and distributing any portion of the survey’s findings is not permitted without prior consent. But you can access it online through Sloan-C at this link.
