UMassOnline’s Dr. Barbara Macaulay to be Featured Guest Speaker

On February 5th at the New England Forum being held by the Association for Continuing Higher Education (ACHE), UMassOnline Associate Vice President and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Barbara Macaulay will be the featured guest speaker during the luncheon portion of the all-day event.  The forum, which focuses on the theme ‘Online Education: New Realities’ is being held at Roger Williams University in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

In her presentation, Dr. Macaulay will provide an overview of the UMassOnline original structural context with an emphasis on key organizational and policy decisions that established the foundation of the initiative’s long-term success. Dr. Macaulay, whose remarks will include a brief update of UMassOnline’s ongoing developments in China, will also address best practices that have emerged since UMassOnline’s formation. These include UMassOnline’s unique development and support of faculty members, the building of interactive learning experiences, the use of emerging technologies, and innovations in program development strategies.
