Great International Resource for Global Students
Posted on May 19, 2009 by Jennifer Brady
It should come as no surprise that throughout the five real-world campuses of UMass, much happens with a strong focus on international issues and relations. To this point, for UMassOnline students studying in foreign countries – and that’s an increasing number – an online resource called Passport UMass may be of great value and interest. It is an international newsletter that highlights and publicizes the great international accomplishments and initiatives of faculty, staff and students on all five campuses. It is the work of UMass’ International Relations Advisory Council which is chaired by Dr. Marcellette Williams, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and International Relations at the University of Massachusetts. And, you can be on the mailing list to receive it by clicking on Passport UMass and then ‘join our mailing list.’
In the Summer 2009 edition you can learn about: the UMass China Institute; UMass Boston’s role in the “Forum for Cities in Transition” conference; the UMass Dartmouth Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture program; UMass Lowell’s new partnership with a university in Belfast; and, a new UMass Amherst International Relations blog on global issues… and much, much more. There’s even a ‘Student Embassy’ section to spotlight student achievements. Take a peek…it’s worth a second look: Passport UMass.
