College Now for Law Enforcement Career Seekers

Posted on June 2, 2009 by Som Seng

UMassOnline Som SengIf you are currently, or want to be in law enforcement, why should you go back to school now? The current recession and something called the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007 are two reasons being given by Radek M. Gadek. Who is Mr. Gadek? He is a graduate of the Master of Criminal Justice program at Boston University and founder of Criminal Justice Online - an interactive site that features criminal justice colleges, degrees, and careers.

According to Mr. Gadek:

The College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007 made it much easier for those seeking or presently working in public service jobs to attend college by lowering the cost of their education through federal loan forgiveness. The dreaded financial burden instantaneously becomes easier to manage through an unprecedented ten year plan towards total Federal Student Loan elimination…for police officers, sheriff deputies, state troopers, correctional employees, federal agents, prosecutors, public defense attorneys, members of military, non-profit workers, and other qualifying occupations.

In case you want to know more about that Access Act of 2007, visit the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators website for a great summary.

It’s only right that I provide a link as well to Mr. Gadek’s site, but please note that we are currently working with Mr. Gadek to include UMassOnline on the site. For now, to get that information, you can start here at our website, or go to this page which shows search results from our site for the term “criminal justice.”
