Welcome Jianbin Li, Tsinghua University, China
Posted on July 10, 2009 by Li Feng
Today I am happy to introduce a new guest blogger, Jianbin Li. Jianbin is the Deputy Director of Liaison and Cooperation at the Administration Office of Continuing & Professional Education for Tsinghua University, China. He has been an integral part of the UMass, UMassOnline and China partnership and now a valuable contributor to the China Column on our blog.
Below is his inaugural post to introduce himself to you.
Hello! My name is Jianbin Li. I’m from China and now I’m learning one of UMassOnline courses. I have been working with the Administration Office of Continuing and Professional Education at Tsinghua University in Beijing since 2005. My responsibilities include liaison and cooperation with governmental organizations, state-owned enterprises; initiating professional development programs, online training programs and cooperate-trainings; and collaboration with continuing education institutions in China and abroad.
Since joining Tsinghua–one of China’s leading universities with strengths both in conventional elite education and post-baccalaureate/continuing education, I have played active roles in building partnership between Tsinghua/China Continuing Education Association and UMass/UMassOnline and in organizing the two UCEA-CCEA Forums in 2006 and 2007 and other domestic continuing education academic events. I have been an author and co-author contributing more than a dozen publications to Chinese major academic journals and periodicals such as Continuing Education Research, Tsinghua Journal of Education, Vocational and Technical Education, Journal of Adult Education, and Distance Education in China.
Raised and educated in China with a master’s degree in higher education, I’m passionate in bridging the differences between Chinese and US education, particularly in helping American educators gain in-depths understanding of China’s continuing and online education policies and the changing marketplace.
I will be guest blogging from time to time and look forward to your comments and/or questions!
